Joseph Bry was, like his father Georges Bry, a Professor at the Faculty of Law of Aix-en-Provence, then Dean of this Faculty (1945), also knight of the Legion of Honour, Croix de guerre.
On April 23rd 1914, he married Marthe Fabre, from which he had 9 children (listed on Marthe Fabre’s page).
Joseph was a jovial intellectual that lived in a gentle life until he was drafted for the first World War. Apparently, he never spoke of the horrors he has seen during his service. This is a photo of him just before departing for the front.
